In order to rent a boat, you will require the following:

  • Photo ID

  • Boat operator’s license (get it here!)

  • We do not put a hold on your credit card for fishing boat rentals but we do require a credit card to be noted upon arrival. We require a credit card for damage deposit for the Pontoon boat rentals. $1000 will be charged to your credit card upon arrival for the Pontoon Boat. It will be returned to your credit card upon return of the boat undamaged. The minimum damage charge is $250. This will be deducted immediately from your damage deposit upon damage being done. If substantial damage occurs, an estimate will be given from our marine mechanic and sent to the customer regarding the total damage. The balance will be deducted from the damage deposit and any additional damage over and above the damage deposit will be charged to the credit card on file. If we are made aware of damage on a fishing boat we will immediately charge the credit card on file the $1000 security deposit and will not refund it until we find out the cost to repair the damages.

Our hours of operation are 8am to 6pm. If you do not return the boat by closing, you will be charged $3 per minute.

We require a $50 deposit to hold your boat rental which will be deducted from your balance due upon arrival. This deposit is non-refundable.

We rent daily to both guests of our cottages and guests outside of the cottages. We only rent week long rentals to those staying at a cottage with us.

You must purchase fuel from Wildwood Staff. The price is $35 for a tank for the aluminum boats and $45 for a tank for the Pontoon boat. The price of one tank is included in the daily rental.

If we are required to come get you on the water for non boat malfunctioning issues (ie. ran out of gas) there will be a $100 charge added to the credit card on file for the time and gas required to bring you back to the dock.

If we are required to come get you with a trailer due to negligence with the boat causing damages that will not allow the boat to be driven back in the water, you will be charged $1.00 per km on top of any damages.

We ask you return the boats in the same condition they were rented to you as. That includes ensuring they are not excessively dirty. We reserve the right to deduct a $50 cleaning fee from your damage deposit if the boat is returned in dirty.

We supply life jackets for all passengers as well as a safety kit. Any items missing or unreturned will be deducted from your damage deposit.

Pets are NOT allowed on pontoon boats. NO EXCEPTIONS

We do not sell fishing licenses on site. You can purchase them online here or at BJ Tackle in Bewdley. A fishing license is required by law to fish in Canada.

We do sell worms in the office ($6.00 for 2 dozen). The closest bait shop is BJ Tackle in Bewdley.

When you rent a boat, that does not give you access to any of the amenities of the resort. We except you to depart from the water on your rented boat and return when you are done. Anyone who uses the beach area or non motorized water equipment will be asked to leave the property immediatly with no refund.

We understand if you need to change the date of your booking or cancel due to thunder or lightning. However if it is just a bit of rain and you do not cancel the day before, we will charge you for the full day rental.

If you cancel without a weeks notice and we are unable to rebook the rental, we will charge the credit card on file the full amount of the rental. Please respect the cancellation policy. If the credit card on file is not sufficient to cover the rental we reserve the right to take the customer to small claims court and include the cost of our time to do so and court costs in the suit.
